The Office of the Public Guardian - Reduced Registration Fees

Its official, The Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) have issued a press release regarding a reduction in registration fees for both lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs) and Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPAs).

As of 1 April, the fees reduced from £110 per document to £82 per document and any fees recently submitted with payment of £110 after 1 April 2017 will be refunded either to the Donor directly or to the third party making that payment on behalf of a Donor.

If you are resubmitting an application (provided it is resubmitted in the timescale advised by the OPG) this will also be reduced effective from the same date from £55 to £41.

The reason for this change is due to the efficiency of dealing with applications processed by the OPG.

If you would like further information about making LPAs or registering LPAs or EPAs please contact our Private Client Department and we will be happy to advise you.
