My name is Isobel Morris and I am a second-year undergraduate student studying a BSc in Criminology and Sociology at Royal Holloway University. I hope to complete a conversion MA course in Law once I graduate to fulfil my aspirations of working as a Solicitor. I was privileged to have the opportunity to spend two weeks of work experience at Pardoes Solicitors.
I spent time at Pardoes across five departments: Residential Conveyancing, Commercial Property, Family, Private Client and Dispute Resolution. My roles varied from administrative legal work to shadowing in meetings and drafting letters to clients. I felt that I was given a wide range of tasks to do which I found interesting and intellectually stimulating. There was a good mix of both independent research work and collaborative projects which kept things different and made each day new and interesting.
Although I only spent a few days in each department, each team made me feel so welcome and they were all happy to give me plenty of guidance on tasks. I finished my work experience placement feeling excited about my future career prospects in Law and ready to learn more.
I would highly recommend Pardoes Solicitors, not just for seeking legal support, but also as a prospective employer. The experienced team show genuine care and interest in each of their clients’ matters and consistently deliver high-quality, friendly service. I found that the work environment was positive and very friendly - I will be sad to end my time here at Pardoes!
