Legal 500 "Next Generation Partner" 2023/24
Legal 500 "Recommended Lawyer" 2022
I am a director of Pardoes Solicitors and Head of Family Law, practicing at our offices in Bridgwater, Taunton, Yeovil, and West Bradley. I practice all areas of family law but I am currently dedicated to public law proceedings in respect of children.
I act for both children and parents and has significant experience and expertise in complex cases involving non-accidental injury, child death, sexual abuse, complex medical issues, serious abuse, international issues, competent children, human rights issues, and very vulnerable adults.
I have been personally mentioned in judgments by judges impressed with her work, and in one case for her “tenacity without which the right decision would not have been reached.” I acted for a mother in care proceedings in Northampton, pursuing a successful claim for damages for human rights breaches against the local authority. That client received a lump sum by way of damages, and the local authority was also ordered to pay the costs of the care proceedings, which is rare.
I was nominated for Family Law Solicitor of the Year (Law Society Awards sponsored by Jordan's Publishing in 2018) by counsel at Four Paper Buildings after their involvement in a case where I was instructed by a father who had suffered a stroke with catastrophic consequences, including significant communication difficulties. The case involved the removal of children from their mother's care after a police investigation uncovered brothels run by the mother, employing minors as prostitutes and dealing them drugs.
On a personal level, I enjoy weightlifting and regularly attends local gyms with a view to increasing my “gains” on each occasion. I also have a passion for cooking, music, and travel. In addition to my professional accolades, my clients find me to be understanding, easy to communicate with, and capable of putting people them at ease even in the most stressful of circumstances.
