TAUNTON COUPLE AMONGST FIRST TO BENEFIT FROM STAMP DUTY CHANGES SAVING OVER £1,000
Posted on 11th December 2017
Siân Woodhouse and her fiancé Jacob Smith, a cartographer at the Hydrographic office in Taunton, are amongst the first to benefit from the changes in stamp duty for first time buyers announced by the Chancellor in the budget..
Siân and Jacob have just completed the purchase on their new home in Taunton and although they had exchanged contracts before the Budget they were still able to benefit from the change as it takes effect on completion only.
Laura Godfrey from Pardoes solicitors in Taunton, who has been advising Siân and Jacob on their purchase, commented “I am delighted that we were able to help them save over £1000 on stamp duty as a result of the changes – we have a number of other first time buyers who have exchanged and are in the process of completing who will all benefit from savings as a result of the changes”.
